Project Introduction:
In light of the Plan's experiences and prevailing issues in the community relating to child rights Plan Bangladesh Hatibandha Program Unit explored possibilities of developing partnership for Enabling Environment Program with potential local NGOs. RUPANTAR is found as one of the most potential partner for EE Program. A team of senior staff of RUPANTAR visited the program area and held discussions with Plan. Another team of Plan staff visited RUPANTAR program and found the program activities, organizational learning attitude, training capacity, utilization of innovative and appropriate techniques etc. quite satisfactory. RUPANTAR management systems is also reviewed by appropriate Plan team and found satisfactory. Particularly, RUPANTAR has long experiences and expertise in CRC base programming; as well as successful Community Awareness Raising strategies. This Project Proposal has been developed for a pilot period of 2 year 3 month (27 months) to address the Child Rights issues/problems of Hatibandha through the joint efforts of RUPANTAR & Plan. We envision that this partnership will focus on:
- Children Organization (CO) support and development
- CO Networking and Child Led Advocacy
- Community awareness on Child Rights and Child Protection
- Development Education
- CBO capacity development
- Strengthening capacity of Union Parishad,
- Linkage & networking among the stakeholders (GO/NGO)
Project Goal:
Enhance Children's capacity to enjoy their rights through raising their voice and networking at appropriate level.
Project Objective:
Building community awareness on Child Rights/Protection through effective communication.
Enhance children potential and develop organizational capacity
Ensure children participation in development initiatives
Strengthening capacity of Union Parishad on child rights
Strengthening capacity of School Managing Committee on Child Rights and Protection
Enhance CBO capacity on Child Rights and Protection.
Develop advocacy capacity of CO with local administration on their development issues
